TASK: QUESTION THREE

1.  CHATBOTS

A chatbot is a product of Artificial Intelligence that can stimulate a conversation with a human being in natural language through websites, mobile applications or messaging applications. A chatbot merely represents the natural evolution of the questioning and answering system leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP). You simply ask the chatbot a question and the chatbot will provide and answer based on how it is programed to respond to those kinds of questions. Therefore, human intervention is crucial for optimising and training the chatbot system.

A popular example of a chatbot is Swelly, the famous Facebook Messenger chatbot. It allows users to pick and choose one of the two options available and vote along with the general public.

    2. VOICE AND VISUAL SEARCH

So what are voice and visual searches?

Voice search uses audio technology and voice recognition to generate search results by           merely speaking to their cellphone or laptop.

Visual search uses machine learning and computer vision to capture a picture online and       then you will be able to gather information online about what you see.

A lot of people have become frequent users of Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant as well as using your Google Lens on your smartphone camera to generate search results for things that would have been otherwise very hard to describe on a word search.

3. SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS

Social media influencers are people who have built a reputation for their knowledge and expertise on a specific subject. They then make regular posts on their preferred social media channels to generate a large number of followers who will pay close attention to their personal views. Companies love social media influencers because these influencers can create trends and draw their followers to the products of their brands.

One of the well-known social media influencer in 2019 is Lily Singh who went under the pseudonym IISupperwomanII. Who worked on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook and endorsed many brands.

4. INGESTIBLE SENSORS THAT HELP MEASURE MEDICATION ADHERENCE

An ingestible sensor is a tiny device that allows patients, physicians and families to accurately measure the amount of medication the patient has ingested and how frequently the patient ingests it. The physicians will then take the next steps of the patients recovery process in accordance with the feedback received from the ingestion sensor.

For example, the first digital pill that tracks whether patients are taking their medication is the Abilify MyCite pill which contains a sensor that transmits information indicating if the tablet has been taken.

5. CLOUD AND REMOTE VIDEO

Cloud based is a term that refers to applications, resources or services made available to users via the internet from a cloud computing service provider. Companies usually use cloud based computing to cut down on other costs that otherwise would have been incurred such as maintaining machinery and training staff.

Remote video allows businesses to interact live with their customers who are in need of support with regards to customer queries or shopping concierge. This feature allows for convenience and quick accessibility for maximum service provision.
